Nanofiber functionalized with Bioactive Agents for Accelerated Differentiation of Progenitor Cells
Cell-based therapy is an emerging approach in regenerative medicine that aims to restore damaged organ and tissue functions.
The research group at CHST fabricates nano-membrane from natural and synthetic polymers containing natural bio-active agent. This biodegradable membrane is compatible with the progenitor cells and in vitro experiments have revealed the regenerating ability of said member. With further validation this fabricated membrane is expected to suitable for regeneration of different soft tissues. Further the uniqueness of the membrane is with the variation of its elastic property it can be used to direct cellular fate through trans-differentiation process.
