Binayak S. Choudhury General Information: Professor Binayak S. Choudhury graduated from Presidency College, Kolkata and obtained Master of Science and Ph.D. degrees from University of Calcutta in Applied Mathematics. He was topper in the National Eligibility Test (NET) Examination for research fellowships conducted by Government of India. He has served his Institute for last 24 years out of which for last 16 years in the post of Professor where he is still continuing. He had been the Head of the Department of Mathematics (during 2005-2008) and Dean, Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences(during 2013-2015). He has served (also presently serving) other Institutes, Government Organizations and Societies, both national (Indian) and international, as advisor/member of several councils, bodies and committees. So far 17 students have obtained Ph.D. Degrees under his supervision. He has published more than 250 research articles in academic journals in areas of Pure and Applied Mathematics, Theoretical Physics and Decision science. He has handled 4 major research projects funded by Government agencies. He has visited several countries in connection with his research activities. He has delivered invited lectures widely in India and abroad on science and general philosophy. He is known for his passion for language and literature, especially for Sanskrit poetry literature.
