Research

I undertake research in the areas of Electrical Machines and Drives, Electrified Vehicles, Distributed Generation, FACTS controllers.

Other than my research at IIEST Shibpur with Indian students, I undertake collaborative research with Prof. Narayan Kar, Centre of Hybrid Automotive Research and Green Energy, University of Windsor, Canada. The collaboration started when I visited his laboratory in July 2011 and stayed there for about a year as a Visiting Professor. I have visited his laboratory again in the summer vacations of 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. During the times when I am not in Windsor, our collaborative research continues throughout the year in the form of SKYPE-based discussions.

The collaboration has so far yielded 3 doctoral research out of joint supervision (those of Ms. Xiaomin Lu, Mr. K. L. V. Iyer and Ms. Chunyan Lai) and the impact of the research is in the form of about fourteen IEEE transaction papers till date. Ms. Lu and Mr. Iyer have visited and have worked for about one and a half months in my laboratory at IIEST Shibpur for their doctoral research in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

I have supervised four doctoral research work so far.
