My research involves applying Complex Network Theory and Data Mining on various networks in the real and virtual world, specifically Online Social Networks (e.g., Twitter, Flickr) and transportation networks (e.g., the Indian Railway Network). More specifically, my interests are in collecting empirical data and analysing and modeling the dynamic processes ongoing in these networks, for instance creation of social links and community formation by users in OSNs, traffic flow in transportation networks, and so on. Another related direction is to devise methods for improving the organization, sharing and searching of information in OSNs.
