Corporate Interface

Considering the need of the hour the Institute has invited over the sessions, host of leaders and experts from Industry and well known academicians in classrooms and as guest speakers in seminar and workshops.

Regular Industrial Tours are also being organized in the vicinity of the university campus to impress upon the students the importance of blending theoretical and classroom knowledge.  Organised industrial visits also help the management students to understand core competence and leverages of modernization and selective outsourcing required for an organization to meet the current challenges and for future growth.

Such interactions and visits  necessarily strengthen academia and industry relationship which paves the way for sustainable development of both sectors.

Training and Placement Cell

The School of Management Sciences has a dedicated  Training and Placement Cell headed by a Professor-in-Charge and student representatives as members. The Cell, in active interaction with industry, identifies corporate requirements, and nurture the students as budding managers and innovative  industry leaders of tomorrow. It also guides the buddies in choosing the appropriate track of specialization and career move, out of various options.

The students are sent for Summer Internship Programmes (SIP) for  6-8 weeks  to organizations of repute, where they undergo intensive industrial training guided by Faculty and Industry managers.

The cell regularly organizes  students’ sessions with distinguished  guest speakers who delivers on current and emerging areas of management.

Our aim is to turn around the students of outgoing batch  accomplished with soft skills and domain knowledge, and   as employable in  industry,  or as budding entrepreneurs.

The Placement Cell interacts continuously with prospective recruiters and potential employers, and alumni, and arrange campus placement drives, and coordinate for off-campus selection tests/ interviews.

  .   Finally the outgoing batches of SOMS had been mostly placed well in the corporate world and succeeded as entrepreneurs. The first batch of SOMS was rolled out in the year 2001 and strength of our alumni runs over 800 in India and abroad. They already occupy middle and senior level managerial positions in reputed corporate outfits and also as academicians in distinguished institutions.
